Two by Two

His story, our song

Lead, Hank Edmister, began singing early in the nineties with his daughters and then the Central Quartet, in the church he attends. These experiences kindled his love for Southern Gospel music and he hoped it would always be a part of his life. Retired from his own excavating business, he now spends his time serving others as township trustee, lead in the quartet and helping to spoil his 14 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. He and Harriett have been married 50 years September 2006.

Harmony, Harriett Edmister, recognizes that musical talent is a gift from God. The busy one in the group, she is fondly referred to as ‘the mouse’ always skittering about serving others’ needs, first. Harriett has always been active in her church, lending a helping hand wherever she can. She takes great delight in having raised four children and now in spoiling their 14 grand children and 4 great grandchildren. Retired from Knox County Health Department where she served as WIC coordinator for 20 years she also counts among her accomplishments being the local 4H advisor for 22 years.

Bass, Karl Blankenhorn, spends most of his practice time,(for the quartet) somewhere between Maine and California as he drives long distance in an eighteen wheeler. His rich Bass voice accents every program and his sense of humor keeps the quartet (and the audience) laughing, most of the time. His desire is to serve the Lord and if that means being the “ham” in the group he says he’ll do it! “It’s a tuff job….he says , but someone’s gotta do it” A veteran of the road for nearly 40 years and a veteran of Viet Nam he prays that his life will exemplify that the personal wars within us all can be won by the Master.

Tenor, Darcy Blankenhorn, has been singing as long as she can remember .Originally a solo artist, her love for that quartet sound encouraged her to help in the forming of Two by Two. A graduate of The Ohio State University, her dual role as a scientist and as a Christian has proven to be a challenging one. She lists among her favorite things to do as public speaking and especially when she shares the love of Christ with her audience. Her love for Southern Gospel music is only surpassed by her love for Christ, her family and the lost. She and Karl share three children and five grand children.
